Marganell is a small town of 303 inhabitants and an extension of approximately 13,24 km2, integrated in the Nature Reserve of the Mountain of Montserrat.

It is part of the region of Bages and its territory, which covers the northern face of the massif, varies between the 250 m to the sea level to the brook Marganell from  1.236 m of the top of Sant Jeroni.

The Village

Marganell is a municipality very sensitive to the sustainable tourism formulas designed to mantain its calmness, the culture and the traditions and the respect for the nature.

Once in Marganell all your senses will be awaken: your eyes will discover the amaizing landscape offered by the magic mountain of  Montserrat; your ears will listen to the birdsong; your hands will touch our land and our territory walking along our trails, your nouse will discover the different flavors of the mountain and you will taste our local products such as Mató and Montserrat's honey

You can also discover our local heritage by visitng our churches and our monasteries such as Santa Cecilia and Sant Esteve. We also invite you to visit the monastery of Sant Benet de Montserrat, where the nuns will show you their ceramic and explain you the ancient tecnique that they use to make it almost "unique"

The Land

Marganell offers also offers products that come from farms and gardens of the village such as chickpeas, beans hook, tomato-colored rose, honey, cheese or aromatique herbs.
